I had the pleasure of listening to Tracy Blume perform with her band, “Jazz in Blume” this past Monday. Tracy and her band provide a wonderful evening of listening pleasure to the tunes of the Big Band Era. Local viewers should check out the website for their schedule of performances. This coming weekend, Tracy will perform with the local highschool choir and jazz group.
About to Disappear
In one week the DP community will once again feature a common theme. November will feature “things that are about to disappear” from around the world. Will mine be the leaves along Kitchen-Dick Road…or??
Photo, Anyone?
I didn’t catch anyone posing for pictures in these Halloween costume cut outs. These, along with many other staged areas, make Pumpkinland a perfect place for taking photos.
Lionhead Rabbit
One of the exhibits at Pumpkinland is exotic and unusual rabbits. I must confess this Lionhead rabbit was a new one for me.
Hot Corn On the Cob
The day I visted, this iron pot full of sweet corn, was a popular spot. Not only was the corn excellent, the fire provided a nice warm spot. it was a bit nippy that day.
Maze Rules
No corn maze would be complete without “rules”. For the last 3-4 years, Pumplinland has had a Wizard of Oz theme for their maze. This year was no exception. My suggestion for local families with children…go during the day. Flashlights and an evening stroll might seem inviting…but it is a better experience for the young ones during the day.
Chicken Scratch
The cornstalks propped against the fence, made a nice focal point for this picture at Pumpkinland.
