The beaches on the northern half of Washington coast are stunningly beautiful.
Ruby beach has a little inlet that is pretty safe for lil ones to play in.
Views of Sequim, the Olympic Peninsula. . .and beyond

Got this fun shot of a baby grey whale at whale cove on the Oregon coast. It was swimming with its mom and at the time we thought it was the tale of one and the other’s face. But later we learned from a docent that these huge whales can curve up like a banana (or more). So now I think it was just the baby. WE were so surprised how close to the rock they kept.
This was our guide Tony…he was AMAZING. I was talking to him and then saw the cool reflection of the lake AND us in his glasses! That’s me in the yellow jacket.
This sand bar was FILLED with seals. All on shore were white/brown but one lil juvenile in the water was grey with black spots.
Sea otters are constantly cleaning. This is needed to keep their fur clean and allow air pockets to keep them warm.
AND all those salmon! These brown bears really didn’t take much notice of us humans…so it’s easy to get complacent. But one swipe of those paws–yikes!
These adorable chicks probably wont make it. All of the rest of the younglings are just starting to fly. They need to be able to fly by end of August or they wont make it ahead of the snow.
