I love owls…and I was so excited to finally capture one. Unfortunately he was on top of a parked dump truck (thus the crop!) I think it’s a Great Horned Owl…

Faraway Friday–OHHH Bear Drool!
This funny bear kept plunging his head in the snow and then shaking head violently creating the snow spray and lovely drool lines (if you look below his left eye there are two going to the ground.)
Gotcha!
I photographed a group of these. All his friends were getting much bigger fish and gulping them in one swoop. This guy kept getting tiny lil fish.
I really like the concentric circles created from his catch.
Oyster Catcher
I had gone for a 30 mile bike ride around Whidbey Island and was waiting for the ferry to Pt Townsend. Fortunately, I had my camera. Oh what should I do with my time? Mr. Oyster Catcher gave me the answer.
But WHY can’t I pick them?
I had to go talk with this cutie’s mom. Every time I turned around she presented a great photo–those cherub cheeks! But I didn’t want her mom to think a was a weird stalker. So I sent her the files afterward. It was a win win for everyone. (Well maybe not all the flowers that got crushed or picked…)
Take Off
This is Fred (maybe Frederika). I have many photos of this beautiful bird in a pond off of Sequim Bay. But birds in flight are my favorites.
Ice cold water here…
Sometimes, less is more. I cropped this way down from a huge waterfall photo. I think it helps to better convey the iciness.
