We thought we were seeing large/fat chipmunks. But these are ground squirrels. Just slightly bigger but no stripe on the head.
While boating on the hood canal we saw HUNDREDS of eagles dining on crabs during the low tide. I have NEVER seen so many eagles at one time.
One of these birds is not like the other….Did you guess oyster catcher? There was a fine buffet lunch served in the eel grass for all birdie friends.
THE JUMP: This male could hear the voles/moles deep in the grass or even underground and then he would LEAP.
When he finished his leap all you could see was the tip of his tail…
This lil harbour seal was relaxing on the rope next to the buoy and soaking in the sun on Hood Canal.
