Suzanne is an amazing photographer. And she is so lucky to live in the Happy Valley neighborhood where the Elk come to her! She can always recognize this buck because of his wonky front antler which she thinks got damaged early on in a fight.

Trumpeter Swans annual visit
Hoards of trumpeter swans come each spring to eat bugs out of the newly cut fields. They fly into the fields from ???? just at sunrise. You have to catch them then because after they land they hang out in muddy fields eating all day.
Protection Island–Eagle
There are eagles galore on Protection Island just off Sequim. I was shooting off a very bouncy boat. No people are allowed on the island. That is actually Mt Baker in the background that looks like a cloud.
Wildlife Wednesday–Puffins!
These puffins live on protection island just off Sequim in the strait. It’s been too stormy for me to go out in my lil boat until the beginning of July. There were only 4 left that we could find.
This is the largest breeding ground for them on the west coast. They are soooo cool!
Wildlife Wednesday- Protection Island…
Protection from humans, but not predators…
I shot this from my boat. When I first took it I thought it was really big salmon. Protection Island is just off the Sequim coast in the straight. It has all sorts of bird wildlife….and seals.
This lil baby seal didn’t make it.
Happy 4th of July!
Freedom started as a lil idea that grew. Just like this lil baldy.
We should never take for granted that they will both still exist without our help!
