High Key Cranes
I went to Bosque del Apache NM to study under Lisa Langell a brilliant creative photographer. One of our tasks was to learn how to shoot in “high Key” where you deliberately make the background completely white to separate your subject.

Note the bird on the far right is still frozen in the pond.
Also note that it was 17 degrees and said photographer was also frozen in place. It’s VERY hard to control your settings when it’s nearly pitch black and you can’t feel your hands!

Great Blue Heron-hunting
I was riding with my WOW group when we crossed the pond and I saw the Heron. I stopped and was rewarded catching it catch it’s lunch-a sizable fish!

Dungeness Hunting Grounds
THis eagle would fly by low and then dip into the grass over and over. I thought it wa missing its prey…but when I zoomed in I realized that each time it had a small mouse or vol in its talons that it quickly ate before diving again.
