The Powerful owl is the largest on the continent. I saw someone walk by and do a double take and ran over to see what they saw–and here she was. Another local photographer told me she had two chicks that have fledged to other parts of the Botanic Garden but we never could find them.

This male was not happy that we stopped our canoe to watch his troupe in the tree tops. So he positioned himself over us and pooped (just missing my husband but hitting our guide). He got us moving again!

I waited for over an hour for this eagle to take off. The light was waning away when he finally did. He looks very determined. Was that what my face looked like while I was concentrating on the shot?
Faraway Friday-Boobies
