Bit by bit some of our farms and ranches are being sold and subdivided. So far this one seems to be hanging on to agriculture.

First snow
The Olympic Mountains got the first noticeable snow of the season overnight on Friday night. As the clouds cleared through the day on Saturday, snow patches were revealed.
(If this view looks familiar it’s because it’s one of my favorites, also shown in the Sequim Daily Photo header, above.)
I like the look of snow in our mountains but I can’t say I’m excited at the prospect of winter’s short days.
Theme Day: Blue
Today’s City Daily Photo challenge theme is “Blue.” I’ve chosen a view looking north from Sequim across the Strait of Juan de Fuca toward Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Blue. The color of water. And sky. And, even, clouds.

Mt. Rainier
We took the Edmonds ferry to get to Seattle on Monday and were treated to a clear view of Mt. Rainier. We don’t see Rainier from Sequim. It’s located to the east of Seattle. You can see taller Seattle structures at the left side of the shot, including the famous Space Needle that looks like a tiny flying saucer on a pole.
Clarity
It’s so glorious when the mountains are clear.
Earth Day
Happy Earth Day. We share this beautiful world with a huge, complex web of life. Cherish and protect it, great and small. It’s all we’ve got.
Sequim pavement
It’s the time of year when Sequim turns bright yellow. It seems that any patch of soil that isn’t cultivated is paved with dandelions.
Dandelions take no prisoners. This patch was mowed about three days ago. After he mows DH swears he hears dandelions popping back up behind him yelling, “Sucker!”
