This beautiful island in the Arctic was home to tens of thousands of birds. THe nutrients flowing from the waterfalls supported millions of shrimp–every birds favorite!

Since the sun never set in August while we were there, the only time it got dark was when storms rolled thru.

When I saw this heart shape within a huge iceberg I screamed “STOP STOP STOP”…Our guide in his very thick russian accent said “you do realize boats do not have brakes….”
He did come back around so I could get the shot however!
