I woke up early to go shoot birds in the 3 crabs area. When I first entered onto hwy 101 I saw this light on the mountains. I had to stop and take a photo. It really doesn’t do the light justice. It was breathtaking.
I’m not a morning person by nature. But First light does magical things to the landscape. I couldn’t sleep and saw this out my window and said “I may as well go shoot”. So I got in my car and had a terrific morning. I really am blessed to live here.
I’ve always wanted to capture cascading posts like this under a pier or a train trestle. This one finally worked for me. Got the water the way I wanted, the posts just such you down the way, and the sunrise colors were just icing!
You have to get up REALLY early to catch this. But boy was it worth it.
