Here in Sequim, pumpkins of assorted sizes, shapes and colors are starting to show up in stores. I was particularly struck by the shade of these when I ran across them today at the local country store, Sunny Farms. Locals shop here for the freshest veggies, fruits, and meat. I like the way the people in the deli take care of me. Occasionally I will have quilters come and stay for a weekend. I call their sandwich orders in and then go and pick them up in about 30 minutes. My guests love them…no fuss, no muss. Their soups are excellent, also.

Balloons Galore
I loved the color of these ballons against the sky. One of the street venders was selling them during our Irrigation Festival.
Soccer Season
It’s soccer season in Sequim! I had the pleasure of watching two grandsons play this last weekend. As I was walking by this game, I took this picture and heard the coach question, “Do you remember those white lines I talked about? We need to keep the ball inside the white lines.” I questioned one of the moms about what the arrow was for….it helps the little ones remember which goal is theirs. Thank goodness for all the volunteer coaches who help kids learn to love this sport!
Elvis is in Sequim!
It’s true..and you can find him at Coneheads…and awesome icecream, mochas, lattes, calories….
Women In Black
They stand silently for an hour each time, dressed in black, holding peace signs, bearing silent witness to all those who have died as the result of conflict in the world. Sequim has it own group of women and I honor their commitment to peace.
My Flag
There are very few of us who don’t remember where we were 5 years ago when the planes crashed in to the World Trade Center. This photo was taken at last Spring’s Irrigation Festival. In Sequim there are many days when the main avenue is lined with flags.
Ruffled Feathers
At Ft. Flagler there is a fenced in area with settling ponds. There were ducks, geese…and a goat. This big boy was understandably upset when another duck tried to horn in on his territory.
