Olympic Discovery Trail runs about 2 blocks from my home. Someday it will be possible to walk/bike/run from Port Townsend to Forks.
This beautiful monument is on private property facing the trail. I know nothing of it’s history. Are there local readers who do? Today I’ve also posted a pciture of the trail as it decends toward MacDonald Creek.

House on the Corner
I have not a clue who lives there, but it always a home that catches my attention when I turn off Cays Road on to Old Highway 101. The yard is always neat, well cared for, and the home looks loved.
The Washington State Ferry System
Someone I know used to complain, “There is one road in, and one road out.” He was grumbling about accessibility to the Olympic Peninsula, where Sequim is located. One of the ways to get here is by riding one of the very neccessary Washington State Ferries. I generally take the Kingston or Winslow Ferry. (Sequim is located approximately under the the Highway 101 sign to the right of Port Angeles.) I like the peaceful ride, the water, and the occasional whale one will see in the Puget Sound. I don’t like the price.
Reflections
On the way to a workshop, I was waiting for a ferry…one of two ways to get off the Olympic Peninsula, I was looking for a picture. I like the reflections.
Proud Eagle
I confess this shot was not taken in the last month. Earlier this year I happened to get a chance to capture this eagle in a tree along Marine Drive. I must have taken 15 shots from quite a distance away. It’s grainy, but I love the way he looks. To get an idea of where this area is located, click here to view a map of the area.
Sequim Community Church
Last week I had to get up at 5:45 a.m. to make it to the first week of classes for PCC. My job had changed and I am teaching a early morning GED class. Previously I didn’t have personal knowledge of 5:45 a.m. On the way I was looking for things to take pictures of and happened to look up. This is the cross on our local Sequim Community Church.
Theme Day–Taxis
Would you believe we don’t have taxi’s in Sequim? It is true. There are buses, para-transit, a private transportation bus system, but the three taxi’s are gone. However, when I saw 5 kids pile out of this SUV at a soccer practice, I decided this was definately a soccer mom’s taxi. Check out her green bumper sticker and the basketball stickers….and then check out the other sites around the world for more “taxi” pictures.
