I wish I was a poet. I wish I could express how I feel. My brother Denton, who many of you in the DP community know, my sisters, my brothers, and I have lost our dad. He was 86.

Shopping Carts
At our local Safeway, parents/grandparents are provided with this unique type of shopping cart to occupy the little ones while they get the shopping done. The only problem, as I see it, is they also put all the snack/grocery type things kids love on their eye level…do not drive this cart down the cereal aisle. Baby girl got “Little Pony” treats and Coco Pebbles cereal. (I didn’t even know who little pony was until this shopping trip.)
Being a fun grandma, I am making the appropriate car (rumm, rumm) noises, and telling Baby Girl to turn right or left as we navigated the fruits and vegetables. I noticed an older gentleman giving me a strange look..he started laughing when we came around the apples on his side and he saw BG. He confessed he thought I was talking to myself.
Moving along..
Do you remember the picture of the rafters, moving through the trees? The house is coming along nicely. As with most construction projects, you will drive by one day and there will be lots of worker…then nothing.
In Memory
Our hearts go out to the parents, families and friends of those students who lost their lives in yesterday’s tragic incident at Virginia Tech.
It's Spring?
Some of you know I am a diehard soccer grandma. Spring season started while I was gone…no way I was going to miss the game yesterday afternoon. It wasn’t really freezing, but the quilts I carry in the car came out..the hot hands. went in the gloves. They won! 5-1. This is an adult co-ed soccer team. My grandson is playing with some of the same team members and they work well together…and they have fun! I love watching this game.
Blackie ..or is it Blackie Too?
A brother and sister, these lovely beasts hang out at The Family Farm. They have a lovely “red” undercoat. Hunters, investigators, nice to have around. What is it about cats that they like to get between your legs?)
The Family Farm
I went to pick up baskets at the Family Farm. I had ordered them before I left for my trip. For those of us who love flowers, this is like “Candyland”. When I arrived today, “Momma” was dead heading these lovely baskets. The folks at the Family Farm offer flowers, dahlias, and fresh veggies at the local farmers markets on the weekends. They can be found on the North side of Old Highway 10, West of Kitchen Dick Road. Tomorrow I will share “Blackie” and “Blackie Too”, the farm cats.
