This is one of those perfect times for being a grandma. My daughter is helping out two days a week with my grandson’s classroom, and I have the time to spend with baby girl. On Tuesday we headed to Carrie Blake Park. A favorite spot for young moms and their children becaue of the wonderful playground, it also has a pond with three bridges…big on BG’s list. We had a great time looking for ducks and their babies. Previous posts of the park can be viewed here and here.

Flag Day is celebrated in the United States. The link gives useful information about this day and the adoption of our flag. These flags were part of the float from Forks, WA. advertising their Old Fashioned Fourth of July Parade and Celebration.

Last night oldest son treated baby girl and I to a wonderful show at the county fair grounds. A division of the Lipizzaner Stallions Traveling Show was in town. It was a great show! Many years ago I visited the Spanish Riding School in Vienna. It was strange to see them here in the same place we watch rodeo. I apologize for the graininess of the picture. (good camera has been officially declared “dead”…temporary replacement has been ordered)

It is the time of year that you can almost see the lavender growing. Each day when I visit my plants, I notice some of the early bloomers are putting on an inch or two a day. The late bloomers are just starting to put wake up. It’s a marvlous time of the year.

This bell is located close to the downtown corridor…and at a place we’ve viewed before. Any ideas from the local viewers?
