Sequim is synonymous with lavender and the views are gorgeous in mid-summer when it’s in bloom. We had a good year in 2017.

Musical greetings
Yesterday’s subject was rock and roll. It reminded me of another musical interlude I experienced in August. This bag piper greeted arriving visitors at the hotel where we stayed in Victoria. Mind you, he wasn’t stationed at the door for us. I was told he was there for a tour group. That group, unlike us, paid the piper.
Theme Day: Rock and Roll
Did somebody say “Flashback?” I caught sight of this character at a live music event in Port Townsend last August. It seemed fitting for today’s City Daily Photo Theme Day: “Rock and Roll.”
I’m part of the generation that specialized in rocking out. Some of us moved on to other pursuits. Others didn’t. To them I say, “Rock on!”

Homecoming
We arrived at the halfway point of our evening walk to find this sweet scene. A cute young man, flowers in one hand, sign in the other: “Of all the fishes in the sea, WHALE you go to HOCO with me?” HOCO = Homecoming.
Mom and Dad were nearby. The intended date was being driven, blindfolded and unawares, to this spot. We didn’t wait around to see the outcome but I’m betting there was an enthusiastic “Yes!” He was very cute and pretty irresistible.
Theme Day: Sensual
For today’s Theme Day, “Sensual,” I’ve allowed myself to get a little personal. A young couple, newly engaged. The look. That moment where eyes meet and, soon, lips lock. Sensual doesn’t have to say everything. It can suggest, imply, foretell. This is a photo taken in 1981 by a dear and good friend, Marie, who has been featured before on this blog.
And speaking of sensual…my second nominee for today’s theme. This one is another moment, just before lips move into action. Sensual in an entirely different way.

You know the restaurant or market you go to that has the best seafood, the freshest shellfish? This may be how they get it, directly off the boat. These guys scored as the shrimp fisherman came in. And they were very pleased.
Little busker
This little girl was holding her own as she played on the street in Port Townsend last month. Her mother sat in a chair across the sidewalk from her.
I had mixed emotions. On one hand she seemed mighty young to stand, performing, on the street. On the other hand, how better to learn to perform?
