So you’ve heard about my relentless pursuit of Mr. Kingfisher…
I actually got this shot the same day but at the marina. Kingfishers are always here and they like to fly back to the tops of the masts.
Views of Sequim, the Olympic Peninsula. . .and beyond

While chasing my Kingfisher about, I stopped to take some new photos of the Railroad Bridge since they have straightened the approach from the Audubon Center.
Well, I am a Kingfisher…
I have been trying to catch a good Kingfisher in flight shot for 7 years! At long last. This guy was at Railroad Bridge Park, flitting in a triangle between two stumps and a tree. I spent about 3 hours there but finally captured quite of few shots I’m happy with.
Wishful thinking….This is from a visit last year to Heronswood garden.
There are miles of trails at the dungeness recreation area. Some are thru the forest and wetlands with lots of birds. Some are right on shore.
Every year the Railroad Bridge gets a Christmas touch! The bridge is part of the Olympic Discovery Trail and just reopened following a restructuring of the park.
It’s a long walk to get to the light house (going back seems even longer!)
You have to time it right so that the incoming tide does not trap you. But there are picnic tables awaiting you. And you cant beat that view!
