On Phillip Island Australia koalas are anywhere you kind find Eucalyptus. This lil guy was actually awake. They usually sleep around 22 hrs a day (just like my cat!)

Look at me–I’m so pretty
This red breasted Cockatoo pair flew everywhere together. Finally they stopped long enough for me to get a good picture. It was really windy so it was hard to get a shot without branches waving in front.
Birds of a color…
This parrot is colored like a budgie but it was about 12-16″ long so I think it was a different bird. It was so fun hanging out at the Botanic Gardens and looking for all the birds we don’t have in the NW.
I am so Powerful!
The Powerful owl is the largest on the continent. I saw someone walk by and do a double take and ran over to see what they saw–and here she was. Another local photographer told me she had two chicks that have fledged to other parts of the Botanic Garden but we never could find them.
Eyes On Ibis
The Australian Ibis was EVERYWHERE in all the parks. This one was taking a branch up to the nest (next photo).
Royal Botanic Garden of Sydney
The gardens comprise 30 hectares adjacent to Sydney Harbour. They are open and free and exquisitely maintained. This was a green house with a wrap around living mosaic wall and so many types of orchids and succulents. (These were all taken with my pixel phone.)

We had a great view from our room of the opera house WHEN a cruise ship was not docked (which was hardly ever!)

Just to the right of the Opera House is the Royal Botanical Gardens. You can see the huge rock wall that they had to build around. More on the amazing gardens later this week.
