Clearing skies
We’ve had over a half inch of welcome rain this month. Because of this we’ve not seen much of the Olympic Mountains. We were tickled to see fresh snow during a clear period yesterday morning. It’s the first we’ve seen this season.
Reflections
Here’s a view at the Bloedel Reserve that didn’t get shown with earlier posts.
Labor of love
This beauty caught my eye as I parked in a lot last month. I’m not generally a big fan of automobiles but then you don’t see a Packard like this every day.
Even new ones don’t roll off the lot looking like this.
Oh, the lines! I can barely imagine the time and effort this baby has had poured into her.
Twisted
I wonder: How does a tree grow like this?

DH started working on his $400 “it’s in good shape” project boat this summer. This is the boat he bought so he could go crab fishing, the one easily worth much more, good and solid.
He tolerates my gotta-have-its. When it comes to his boats, I try not to tell him “I told you so.”
After a full summer’s hard work and gallons of epoxy he got the boat finished last weekend, about a week after the end of crabbing season. A neighbor took pity on him in August and invited him along on his boat. We had a couple of outstanding crab dinners from the trip. Thank you, Rob.
In the neighborhood
A while ago a group of birds moved into the pen next to the two white goats that I’ve shown you before.
My friend Susan and I have been puzzling over what they may be. “Emus,” she thinks. That sounds as good as anything else to me.
They’re young, curious, and rather entertaining.
