The flowers of the grendelia, a form of native sunflower, are among the last of our summer blooms. The bees were making the most of it.
By the way, did you know that worker bees are always females? More women to thank in your life.
Views of Sequim, the Olympic Peninsula. . .and beyond

I’d taken a couple of shots of a scene with pretty light. I started to move on when DH held up his “I think I’d try framing these this way” hands, turning them just so and said something about textures and patterns. I fired off a few more shots. Just to keep the peace, you know. Let him know I was listening.
I’ve deleted all the shots I’d framed. The two I took “for him” were the only ones worth keeping. Thanks, Sweetheart.
This is a view I always like.
The shot didn’t turn out as I’d hoped. So I goofed around with it. I still have my doubts. I do like knowing that my bedraggled sunflowers are ending their lives as dinner for the birds.
The weather was nice enough to take in the action at the Carrie Blake Skate Park last Friday evening.
I watched several guys practice their moves with bikes.
This fellow preferred a razor scooter. Most of the time he went airborne flawlessly. I liked the action in this shot.
If there is a story that goes with this old trailer I don’t know what it is. It says “Doc Frick’s Patented Medicine Show.” There was a Frick’s Drug store in Sequim for 52 years. It closed in 2014 after the owners retired. I don’t know whether the venture had an early incarnation or if this unit was a unique form of advertising. For now, the enigma is parked in a distant field.
A nice view with Bell Hill in the background.
