Rialto Beach

Views of Sequim, the Olympic Peninsula. . .and beyond
Lake Crescent is so beautiful…even better from the water.
I love the reflections of the rock walls in the water here. But every day by about 10 am the winds have begun and no more reflections.
This area is of a railroad tunnel ( just to the left of the wood bridge) that is now part of the Olympic Discovery trail.
Several kayakers were enjoying the area around log cabin resort on the north side of the lake.
This guy was following our boat down the lake. He would fly ahead by about 20 yards and wait for us. When we caught up he’d fly the next 20 yards.
The Olympic Discovery Trail now runs completely around the North side of the lake. It is pedestrian and now bike friendly (no more gravel!)
You have to bring a light source because the tunnels are pitch black, but they aren’t too long. Below the bridge are kayakers enjoying the day.
Lake Crescent has very few people on it even in the summer. The only disturbance to the glassy surface was own own trail.
I just loved the lines and colors these reeds created in the waters of Lake Crescent.
