This juvenile bald eagle landed at the top of a younger tree out my window in the middle of a wind storm. You cant tell from this but it was swinging and swaying on a 4 ft arc. You can just see his yellow talons clinching the branch for dear life. I had to take this thru the window–I wasn’t going out there–pine cones were flying in like morters!

Don’t Feel Crabby…
Today this was the only crab in our pot. Its a rock crab and it was already dead. The pots went through quite a storm and the pot was filled with mud. My hubby got a lot of exercise pulling that puppy up! He put the crab up on the pilling hoping to get our friendly bald eagle to come down for it.
Up a creek without a paddle–
Well a bay without an oar..but you get the picture. My husband was crabbing in in Sequim Bay, but the oar lock doesnt work and the oar kept coming out and floating away. Here her rescued it…but his expression tells it all!
Biting off more than you can chew–ALMOST
This gull on my dock had a sea star stuffed halfway down its’ throat. He was working on it for a good 40 minutes when it finally managed to get it all down–whole! I wasn’t sure it would survive this event. But about a half hour later it flew off.
My New Pet BUCK
I looked out my back window and saw “Buck” here laying down. Now I get deer all the time but they never lay down (they save that for Port Townsend!)
When my hubby finally go to close, he got up but he clearly had a hurt foot. Otherwise he was BEAUTIFUL and healthy–probably because HE’S the one that at all my garden…
Evening Dining
This baldy who just lept from my tree outside my back window at dusk flew down and caught a nice meal from the bay.
Cook for EXACTLY 11 minutes.
Hubby Ken cooking up some tasty Dungeness Crab from our own backyard.
But you can crab from the shore or from the public docks too. All you need is a license and crab pot (and a license). Come try it it’s fun AND delicious!
