It was a CRAZY weather day. EVERYTHING except Mt Baker was in BLACK rain clouds. The mountain just glowed. I was fortunate to be at a friends house at diamond point. You can see the cliffs of Whidbey island below that were also lit up.
Views of Sequim, the Olympic Peninsula. . .and beyond

The only way in and out of this wonderful wildlife area is by float plane. It gets interesting because the weather literally changes every few hours. So its very possible they can drop you off and NOT be able to pick you up due to fog/snow/incoming storm….
And remember everywhere we looked there were bears on the shore….We had to cut a few days short due to possible weather, but at least we didn’t have to spend the night with our furry models….
I just love Washington coasts rugged beaches.
This beach is long and wide open. It’s trees are all windswept since there is nothing blocking the steady winds.
This area is simply stunning. If you ever can go there…GO
There are so many peek-a-boo vistas on the trail. It’s only 90 minutes from Sequim…Go try it!
My friend and I were lucky to just sit on the doorstep of my van, cocktail in hand, and witness this gorgeous sunset at Otter Rock on the Oregon Coast.
