This log home looks as if it was well on its way to completion and then…who knows? It appears to have sat, open to the elements, for a while.

Sweet spot
This house has a nice view and a nice setting adjacent to the Dungeness Recreation Area.
A slightly overcast day in the Olympics.
Different house
This house is near the boundary of the Dungeness Recreation Area. I’ve always found it’s roof adornments interesting. They’re certainly different in these parts.
Her cave?
The local paper had a special section recently that highlighted “she sheds,” the feminine alternative to man caves. A few days later I came across this sweet little outbuilding. The setting is nicely landscaped and the building itself has a cute vibe that would inspire shed envy.
She sheds are where the lady of the house might retreat to creative pursuits. Crafts, artwork, sewing. Stuff without motor oil, sawdust and the like.
Misty valley
DH pointed out the view of this misty valley to me the other day. The photo gods were smiling; I even found a place to pull over and take a shot.
Derelict
There’s something about derelict houses that always arouses curiosity. What happened? Why is it empty? Who lived here? If walls could talk.
Though rundown this is a large, nice piece of property. I can imagine an active life lived here.
Black and white or color…that is the question
I thought I would prefer this shot in black and white. And I do like the textures.
But when I went back and looked at the original again I preferred the color version. Each one highlights something different. I’ll let you decide for yourself.
