Here’s one of my favorite trees again, the willow that stands at the eastern entrance to Dungeness Recreation Area. It does a fine job of basking in late autumn light. And it’s showing off its leaves before they get shaken off in the next storm or two.

Munchkins on the march
The students at Five Acres School routinely explore the outdoors at Dungeness Recreation Area, rain or shine. They can often be spied from a distance by their bright colors as they range over the trails and hillsides. They’re very cute young explorers.
People and graveyards
It’s interesting how graves, in a way, reflect people. This one, for instance. So small and modest a walker might stumble over it. Initials. Nothing else.
This one makes more of a statement, from a time when monuments were also artistry. I think it may have originally had a finial on its top.
Then there are the souls who need boundaries, in death probably as in life.
The rewards of walking
One of my favorite trees looked particularly nice the other day.
Veterans Day
Thanking Veterans today for their service and many sacrifices. Thank you, one and all.
Sunset in greys
Those colorful sunsets we enjoyed last summer are a thing of the past. This is a color shot but that’s certainly not obvious. It was just that kind of day.
Pair o’ paragliders
These paragliders enjoyed updrafts along the bluffs early Monday evening.
One of them sailed a while with a passing eagle.
