Last week we turned a trip to the doctor in Seattle into an opportunity to be tourists again after an absence of many years. As we approached the Space Needle at Seattle Center I realized that I didn’t have any shots of this icon. So here’s a collage of several views, including reflections and images taken at Chihuly Garden and Glass, a spot I’ll highlight for you soon. (Yep. That’s a selfie of me on the bottom right.)

Barn and blossoms
Hungry for color
After winter days of grey skies and bare foliage this shot take at the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival last year looks like a Technicolor miracle. It’s not too soon to start planning a day trip if you’re local, though if you’ve got cabin fever an overnight trip sure appeals. The festival runs through the month of April.

Fan Tan Alley
Today I’m sharing a couple of shots of Fan Tan Alley in Victoria, B.C. Located in Victoria’s Chinatown, it was once a gambling district with shops and opium dens. Although it widens in the middle, at its narrowest point it is only 35 inches (.9 metres) wide.
As we left the alley some young people were filming a movie.

Black Ball Ferry
Here is MV Coho docked in Victoria, B.C. Operated by Black Ball Ferry and berthed in Port Angeles, the Coho can accommodate 1,000 passengers and 115 vehicles. Sailing time from Port Angeles to Victoria is 90 minutes. Want to plan a cheap thrill? You can travel free on Coho on your birthday.
