4th of July celebration-Sequim Style
Ok my fireworks photo skills are highly lacking–(and I left my tripod in the car) But it was a GREAT show especially for a little town.
Every year the town gathers at Carrie Blake Park for the fourth. There are food vendors, activities, music all afternoon ending with the fireworks show.
The amphitheater always has music every Tuesday throughout the summer. Black Diamond Junction is a mainstay on the peninsula. Amanda Bacon a local Sequimite keeps us all entertained!

Crabfest Main Tent
Here with the giant octopus decorations is where the crab dinners are served up. THere are also lots of other seafood vendors with crab rolls, oysters, crab cakes and my favorite Kokopelli fish and chips. (with the best tarter sauce that I can’t manage to recreate!)
Dungeness Crab and Seafood festival
Every year Port Angeles hosts the Dungeness Crab and Seafood Festival. This year had PERFECT WEATHER (not always the case–usually coats and layers are required!) For $40 you get a whole crab, ear of corn and some cole slaw. The crab is REALLY FRESH…often just out of the bay. THousands aof CAnadians come over the ferry for the festival. There are three bands playing, lots of craft vendors. And …
CRAB HATS!
Music in the Park-Sequim
Every Tuesday at 6pm in the summer we have Music in the Park at the amphitheater in Carrie Blake Park. This night featured Black Diamond Junction which is a local favorite. Here everyone is dancing to the song SHOUT. I love the joy this little girl had dancing to it.
All the concerts are free. Everyone brings blankets and picnics.
The really fun time about living in a small town is that there is always room at an event for your family (even if you show up late!) AND you will always know lots of people. I went to the event by myself, but worked my way from group of friends to group of friends–it was a smorgasbord! A great time as usual.
Port Townsend Kiwanis Car Show
This annual event is well attended, and is held on the football field in downtown PT. They raise money for scholarships to mechanic schools.
