Luck of the Draw
Back in December I won a drawing on Gunn’s Stavanger Daily Photo site. The picture above is the postage on the package I received from Norway (with a little hint of the nature of something that will be included in the package I’m sending out). It was fun to get lucky and receive that package and now I’m paying it forward. I put together a little care package that I’ll send out this week to one of you. To enter just leave a comment answering the question “What Makes You Smile/Happy?” Comments left before midnight on Sunday will count and I’ll put those names in a bowl and draw on Monday. If only one person leaves a comment, your odds of winning are significantly higher lol. (No friends or family, sorry.)
The Buzz in Sequim
Lazy J Tree Farm – Oh Christmas Tree
We went to pick out our Christmas tree yesterday late afternoon at Lazy J Tree Farm. I wrote about them in October when we took our garden remains there to compost.
It was our first time cutting down our own tree and we made it an experience. Put in a Christmas CD on the way (Christmas season doesn’t officially start for me until I’ve heard the song Santa Baby, Kellie Pickler’s version of it is my favorite that I’ve heard so far) to get in the mood. We pulled onto the farm and we were greeted by a young man who provided us the basic information and handed us a saw. Then we drove down the dirt road and it’s about 6o or 80 acres, I’ve heard both figures, but it’s a LOT of trees to pick from. We searched for about 30 minutes and never crossed direct paths with anyone, even though we saw about 10 different people parked there when we were there. Then we found the one we wanted and my husband cut it down, we loaded it up and brought it back to the barn where they measured it. In the barn they have a cute store with Christmas goodies, gifts and wreaths. Very festive. There is a holiday event coming up there next Saturday. When we left my husband and I both had the mind frame of why haven’t we done it this way before.
Lazy J Tree Farm, 225 Gehrke Road, open 8-4, (360) 457-5950, $6 a foot.

This is Mugs & Jugs, a bar and grill in Sequim. I’ve never been inside, but the name amuses me.
Happy Thanksgiving
The “Giving” got buried in the snow. To all who celebrate today, I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving.
(If all went well with travel, I should be out of town with family when this posts.)
Happy Halloween
These were all taken at the Pumpkin Patch.
