Now what would Sequim be with out the Sequim Elk on its signs? This one, close to Stone Statuary on West Sequim Bay Road, points the way to all kinds of places I’ve shown you before. At the time of writing this post, there were 106 bloggers around the world who are ready to share their world with you. As always, times zones differ, so visit often.

Today is the Day!

Today I celebrate one year as a DCP Blogger! It has been a great experience. I have enjoyed all of the friends I have met, learning new things every day from other bloggers, and looking at my world in a new and different way. I would especially like to thank all of you who have stopped by and visited. You have made me happy to share Sequim. Today I am sharing our annual “in the lavender” photo. Joining me are “baby girl” and “my big boy”, the shining lights of my life.

Last of the summer blooms

flowerrs5.JPG
Someone fetilized and has taken good care of these blooms. Summer is started to fade, and there are some that could stand a little deadheading. Today I offer them as a virtual gift to my Mother for her birthday. Unfortunately, she is not in good health. For several years, my sister has gone to her house and planted her a flower garden for Mother’s Day. It always makes her happy.

Tomorrow I will celebrate my first year as a DCP Blogger. I hope you will stop by and visit.

Nash’s Organic Produce

On East Anderson Road you will find a small organic fruit and vegetable store. The farm is run by Nash Huber. His veggies are sold in local Saturday markets and through a “Farm Share” program. I do believe his carrots are the sweetest in the world.

P.S. Thank you for your words of sympathy and kindness on the loss of my Ollie. I am away for a couple of days, but through the magic of Word Press and the technical genusis of my brother, I can still post. I’ll be back to visit soon.,

Oliver, 1990-2007

I’ve lost my best friend. Oliver the Cat went out the morning of July 20th and did not return. Despite a massive search, ads in the paper, and speaking to every neighbor in a three block radius, my friend was not found. It was important for me to to pay tribute to him and to bring some closure to those of us who loved him dearly. Oliver was a very unique cat and my companion of 14 years. Yesterday family and friends join me for an evening of remembering, Oliver, the gentleman cat, who never met a lap he didn’t like.

Now which way do we go?

Last Sunday we took a photo ride …. grandson drives…I yell, “Stop” and jump out and shoot something. We had just driven past this group, he pulls over and I hop out expecting to get some action shots as they went by…they changed their mind…stopped, conferred and went back the other way. Does this ever happen to you? With the Olympic Discovery Trail , Sequim is a great place for bike riders.
