A very dear friend passed a bicycle on to baby girl this week. We spent part of the day at Mike’s Bikes on West Sequim Bay Road, getting training wheels attached. I truly appreciate the time they spent with us, which included checking her helmet to make sure it was a good fit. It’s a great business and Sequim is lucky to have such a quality bike shop. Most of their business is “high dollar” bikes for biking enthusiasts. Yet, they found the time to make a day very special for Grandma and her girl.

Standing at the copier, mindlessly waiting for a few extra pieces of paper to pop out, I suddenly notice this glorious morning light on the chimney at the Sequim Community School. I have to admit, my camera was in my car. Once I went and got the camera and made it back to the classroom, the sun was not quite what it had been. I’d like to say “Lesson Learned”. Perhaps.

They tempt you to buy them for your decorations. I also understand they are excellent eating and very sweet.

Depicting our area, this bench at the bus stop in front of True Value Co-Op, show the salmon which used to be very plentiful in our area. There are those who might suggest it also depicts “Sequim potatoes”. If you look at the geological history of the Olympic Peninsula, you will find we were once covered by a huge ice flow. Rocks of various sizes seem to sprout from the ground. These rocks came from the construction area when the 101 by pass was built.

It used to be medical services kept the regular “banker’s hours”. In our neck of the woods, it is becoming more common to offer services outside of the normal office hours. Peninsula Medical Imaging, located on the corner of 5th and Fir, stayed open until 9:15 p.m. to finish up with their last patient. For those with tight schedules, it helps to have early or late appointment options. For the owner of the business, it pays to have that expensive machine making money.

As you drive past Sunny Farms farm store, you will find Mr. and Mrs. Pumpkin Pig waving a greeting. Previous posts, will probably give you a good idea of how frequently I shop Sunny Farms. I see all my friends and neighbors there too.

Thanks to all of you who stopped by on theme day to visit. I made it to a goodly number, but didn’t make it all the way around. That four letter “work” got in the way. Perhaps later this week.
