Oliver’s regular vet, Dr. Melissa Smith, had the day off. Dr. Stall gave him his annual exam and gave us the news we already knew…Oliver is getting old. However, we forecast many more days of sunning on the deck and dreaming about catching shrews, mice, and snakes. His arthritis prevents him from actually engaging in any of these activites.

A Little to the Left…Ahh. Right There
This is a photo of the resident male in my home. Oliver, a 16 year old tabby, will be featured in some up coming photos. Oliver, more like a dog than a cat, likes everyone and has never met a lap he didn’t like.
Me First!
I was playing with the features on my camera..trying to understand how to shoot in black and white. I like this shot of two little hands diving for the snack bowl. The drawing in the foreground is a present for me from one of the children to take home and display on my refrigerator.
Sunland
Sequim is known for it’s “Banana Belt” climate. Our Chamber of Commerce brags that we have have more Sunny Days than anywhere else in western Washington. They used to post the number of days we had sunshine…now they post the hours. “1551.4 hours this year 1272.9 hours last year”.
This picture, shows the entrance to a local subdivision that boasts a clubhouse and golf. “Sunland” is appropriately named and a lovely place to live.
Clouds
A break in the storm allowed me to capture this picture of clouds lying below the tops of the mountain. We have more rain forcast for the weekend, with Monday suppose to be very windy.
The Bell in Front of City Hall
In front of the present Sequim City Hall a bell is featured prominently. I was not able to find out the history of the bell…yet, but I’m still trying. The rock in front, however, contains a plaque as a memorial to a firefighter who lost his life in the call of duty in 1978.
The Dungeness River
With all the rain, our local river,“The Dungeness,” only 32 miles long, is in danger of being “in flood”. After a very dry summer, it is hard to complain about rain, but the safety of those who live here is also a concern.
