Thanksgiving in American is traditionally a time to spend with family. I saw this sign posted at my favorite flower shop in Sequim, Sofie’s Floral. I echo the sentiment.

Smallest Store in Downtown Sequim
On Washington Street in downtown Sequim, is a very small storefront, Sequim Bay Merchants.com. Their window caught my eye. I loved the snowman, his sign, and the trees in the background are sticks with marshmellows stuck on the end! It wasn’t until I got home that I realize my snowman was missing an eye in the picture. I don’t know if it was the angle I shot the picture or just what happened. Local viewers will have to stop by and check out some of their unusal gifts.
Catching Some Rays
When I first spotted Oliver next to the pine tree in my front yard, his face was more in the sun…run get camera…too late.
Fall at Purple Haze
While waiting for Mass Friday evening, I decided to take a page from my brother Denton and take a walk downtown. This is the Fall window at the downtown store of “Purple Haze”, the folks who started the lavender craze in Sequim. It’s a wonderful place to find lavender scented products, nice people, and unusual gifts. Their website also has wonderful recipes. they include Lavender Honey Bunches, Pear and Lavender Clafoutis, and Lavender Margaritas. A previous “post”shows the out side of the store during the day in late summer.
All Gone
During the summer it might be possible to drive by this farm on Old Highway 101 and not see the barn hidden behind the trees. Not now…what leaves were left on the trees have now been blown away…in to my yard.
Falling Branches
Compared to the branches all over the road I saw as I drove in to Sunland today, this puny little dead branch that fell and knocked my bird feeder cockeyed, seems like nothing. But now the clean up begins. They are forecasting another storm on Sunday, but nothing like the last one.
Oh, for a little “Sunshine”
The Sunshine Cafe is located on the south side of Washington Street in Downtown Sequim. The folks are friendly; the cuisine is hardy, and the peanut butter pie is to die for. You will find lots of locals who frequent the cafe. With all the rain and wind we have had of late, we could use somemore sunshine.
