As part of the Irrigation Festival, a carnival arrives each year. This young lady and I just happen to catch the trucks as they brought the rides, ticket booths, and sideshows. I’ll bet that by the time I get to work in the morning they will be well on their way to having it all set up for the grand opening on Thursday.

I have taken a short break in the countdown to the Big Parade to share this hard to find farm scene in Sequim. Notice the hills in the back.. building is continuing.

Healthy Families hosted this booth at Kids Day. Rocks were provided and masterpieces were created. One saw lots of parents and grandparents holding on to the paperplates while the rocks dried and the children went on to more booths.
5 days and counting to the Irrigation Festival
The week leading up to the Irrigation Festival is packed with activities. Today was Kids Day. It started off with a parade down Fir Street. Children came decked out in costume and then moved on to other activities. One of the most popular was “Touch a Truck”. Several of the local businesses and service organizations brought vehicles for children to climb in, touch, and ask questions about. They then moved on to more important things, like rock painting. I’ll be featuring pictures from these events over the next couple of days in our count down to the big parade!

“I don’t know, Honey. What do you think? Is this the neighborhood we want to raise the kids?”
