Geese

Migration time is coming and geese have been virtually paving a local pond. As I watched, many flocks came in to join the party. Throughout the days lately we’ve seen countless flocks in flight across the sky, flying in circles, forming wedges, joining together and breaking apart.

This pond is directly across the road from the one above. It seems to say a lot about the social preferences of geese.

The Texaco station

I first posted shots of this station years ago. It’s post-worthy because I don’t think Texaco exists anymore. And, also, because this little station is nestled behind a fence and apparently belongs to a fan of Texaco memorabilia.

Old farm equipment has appeared along the fence since the last time I photographed this place, as has the not-exactly-period car that’s parked beyond the gas pumps.
