Bird life in three photos
We walked up the beach to see how close to this great blue heron we could get.
Then we reached “I’m out of here” proximity.
And a seagull swam up. “How about me instead?”
Sun and snow
This native willow is in a meadow not too far from home. It’s on the edge of a wetland. I’ve never visited it up close but love the look of it. It appears to be dramatically splitting in two.
And there it was during our recent snow.

Trumpeter swans visit us during the winter. I’d heard from several people that they were back. I found some, at a distance, before it snowed last week.
