I believe that this was the original Cline family barn. The Clines were one of Sequim’s early pioneer families. Grandson Bob Clark has told stories of barn dances held here in the days when that was a big social event for farming families. Nowadays it’s guarded by a huge metal chicken. I haven’t decided yet…does that mean something?

Hello,
I love the red barn and the big metal chicken is cute. I hope the farm is still with the family.
Take care, enjoy your day! Wishing you a happy weekend!
Barn dances always look like such fun when you see them on TV or in the movies!
I think that the chicken is trying to get pass the fence so he can cross the road. 🙂
Where is this barn? I love your photos!
Ron, I don’t know the name of the road. It’s in Dungeness off Marine Drive. Cline Spit was part of the family property so it’s not far from there.
i’m not sure if there is any meaning to it but, he does look very charming standing there in front of that wonderful barn.
When I was a kid there was a community hall out in the countryside that had hugely popular dances every Saturday night.
I love the big chicken.
A formidable looking guard.
