Almost six years ago I posted a shot of this house here. It was moved from several miles away to this location.
Although it is now anchored onto a foundation its progress has been slow if you count the years. It’s gotten some paint here and there. A small tractor was moving soil around the day I took these shots. The house itself still looks unoccupied from here, though.
That was big to move.
It is good that this technique exists to be able to move the house … can that also be done with a brick house?
The house looks great. I am surprised that no one is living in it.
I’ve seen houses moved before and I always wonder how they can survive such a project. It seems to me that cracks and other weaknesses might appear. Interesting that it is still sitting empty.
That is a huge house to move in one piece. They did a wonderful job getting it here, probably cost a fortune too.
It is always amazing to see a house being moved. I wonder if the owners ran out of money?
Seems like a lot of effort to not get about finishing the job.
