One early and welcome sight here in spring is flowering trees in the landscape. After a long winter, I personally declare them a public service.
There are a couple of streets planted with rows of flowering plum trees that are a quiet festival of pink right now.
It was sunny yesterday and Fifth Avenue was a gorgeous place to walk.

I think calling them a public service is perfect. Wow, what beautiful trees. I’d love to walk under them.
The plum trees are so beautiful and they smell nice too when they are blooming. One of the houses we owned was surrounded by six plum trees and it was nice to smell the aroma the flowers gave off.
