Passing through

I mostly took it for granted that the geese flying through our skies were Canada geese since they’re so common here. But while I was taking photos another photographer showed me a snow goose he’d caught nearby in one of his shots.

And he also had noticed these Greater White Fronted Geese on their way to California for the winter. Cooperative photographers sometimes share the best sightings.

  1. There is quite a large contingent of Canadian geese living on the golf course near me. I just saw a bunch of them a few days ago so I think some of these fellows have already flown south.

  2. I was out on our deck yesterday and a flock of about 40 geese flew by overhead. I just assumed they were Canada Geese but who knows. It was thrilling to see their organized flying!

  3. Fabulous! We saw a flock of Snow Geese today – it was so good to hear their voices once again. We have a lot of flocks of Canada Geese near our home that are gathering together for their migration – a noisy lot early in the morning – but so good to hear also. I don’t mind being awakened by them circling overhead and practicing for their flight south.
