I found these thistles by the side of a road. A pretty neat find.
They were bright spots of color on an otherwise grey day.

Interesting roadside find. Brings back memories. When I was a girl, one of our neighbors used thistles painted gold in holiday arrangements.
I guess this, the drop in temperature and a little bit of rain mean Autumn is coming. I always miss the longer days. (Sigh!)
Nature as artist? 😉
Very colourful!
Those are pretty and unusual. We’ve seen only pink ones here.
They are lovely – but strange for artificially coloured flowers to be on the roadside. I have been noticing all sorts of odd colours in the florists lately.
Sequim thistles are so much more colourful than Perth thistles Kay 😉
I remember a school project when I was about 7 years old…..spraypainting (the teacher did it) these thistles…gold and silver for the holidays. My Mom kept them forever.
I think we did something like this too except I only remember gold. And they were around a long time in our house also.
