Throwback

We found this letter writing station at at tiny stationery store in Victoria B.C. Remember letters? You know, those paper missives you compose, stamp, and mail to friends and family? You can even make a greeting card.

The nice people at this store will even give some basic tech support. The first step is probably training in how much force a typewriter key requires compared to a computer keyboard. And don’t forget the carriage return.

  1. Gosh I can’t remember the last time I got an actual letter Kay, I remember really looking forward to getting a letter from overseas. I do handwrite notes and send them to my grandchildren, I think they really like it 💜

  2. This is wonderful! Wow, really takes me back to a time long ago when colored paper/envelopes were such an exciting purchase. What colors should I choose? Mix or match? Should I handwrite or type? Would my letter arrive the next day or the day after? Would my friend/relative be excited to receive the letter? Those days are pretty much gone “thanks” to email and texting.

  3. Ha ha. I was thinking about how hard those keyboards are to type … I learnt typing on one of those long ago. Their worst feature is they don’t have a delete key … given my bad typing.
