Last September I posted photos here of new young birds that had shown up on a small farm near Sunny Farms store.
They’ve grown fast. They’re tall enough now that they stand almost eye-to-eye with me, not surprising since they are the second tallest birds in the world (after the ostrich).
Emus are native to Australia, which helps explain why they’re such a curiosity to locals. On a breezy day you can see their soft, downy feathers blow about. Click here for more information about these flightless birds.
Goodness they have shot up Kay.. imagine if our youngsters grew so fast 😀 Holiday plans.. how exciting ✨
Quite a remarkable bird!
They sure are tall compared to the earlier photos. Fast growing birds!
Love the hairdo!
I am of course familiar with these birds in the wild. I am always excited to see them when we go out west.
