I recently showed you the Dungeness Spit, the longest natural sand spit in the U.S. here. The New Dungeness Light Station, shown above, is at the end of the spit, about a 6 mile (9.65 km) walk. I took this shot across Dungeness Bay (which is formed by the Spit) with a long lens. To the right of the lighthouse is the keeper’s residence where guest lighthouse keepers stay for one week stints.

I am hooked on lighthouses. I can never resist the opportunity to photography one.
I imagine that could get lonely if you did more than a week at a time there. But a pretty spot!
That would be a nice walk to take. The location looks nice and peaceful but add a storm and you have a totally different landscape.
I could probably handle that for a week but not much more! It looks fabulous though.
The view is so pretty. I can’t quite put my finger on why this looks like something from elsewhere in the world rather than Australia.
I would love to be a guest lighthouse keeper Kay, how fab that would be 😉
