I thought I’d show you just how big an eagle’s nest can be. In a mostly dead tree, or snag, this one stands out.
Eagles like this sort of vantage point. The location isn’t too far from the Dungeness River, where the fishing can be good. But it’s also next to some open fields where a bird with an eagle’s vision can also probably have good hunting.
It’s big. I never know where to look for bests – big or small
Fantastic view and the neighbours are friendly. ~(‾▿‾)~
This year I and many of my friends and neighbours enjoyed watching eagles and their nest that was located next to the Mississippi River (I think I posted photos, too). I am awed by the size of the nests, one of which you posted today. I also have visited The Raptor Center on the Univ of MN, St Paul campus and another museum within driving distance that had nests on display. Many aspects of nature both humble and awe me. We MUST protect our wildlife any way we can! Thanks for those marvellous photos.
That is quite a big nest.
That is huge but the only eagle I have ever seen looked large enough to carry me away so I guess they need a large nest!
That’s a pretty impressive eagle’s nest. Great lookout spot for fish or anything that might pose a threat.
Such a brilliant vantage spot there Kay, but it looks looks a wee bit vulnerable to strong winds. I’m quite sure they know what they’re doing better than moi 😀
