I saw this belted kingfisher as we waited for a ferry. I zoomed in closer but the view was better like this, framed by timbers and wire.

I have seen them in action. They are great at diving for food.
Great shot – we saw some baby seagulls on a piling by the Lummi Island Ferry yesterday – love the ferry birds. We are headed to Port Ludlow tomorrow for four days at an AirB&B – we’ve never explored your part of the state, can’t wait so see all the wonders out there. I’m so glad the weather has warmed up and we are seeing sunshine once again.
Excellent shot!
Little sweetie, looks like it’s got it’s eye on something in the water and getting ready to dive. Love the kingfishers, super shot Kay.
What a cute wee bird and I like your choice of framing. Nice one Kay.
Nice one! He is concentrating on seeing a fish I think!
