I was reminded recently how much I like cows when we walked on a trail that took us past a pasture full of dairy cows. The girls were contentedly munching on grass but interrupted lunch as walkers came by. They were clearly interested in the human procession. So those beautiful faces with wide, curious eyes were uplifted as they took time out to people watch.
The only thing cuter are calves. Two days later I came upon a small herd grazing near my vet’s office.
Ah spring is fabulous, love the abundance of baby animals in spring, plus everything is sooo lush and green.
This post brought back lots of memories of when I was young and worked (during the summers) with farmers to help with the milking and hay baling. I came to realize rather quickly how each cow had her own personality and needs and wants. Some were so gentle and loving. A few were kinda cranky and would try to kick over the pail you were using to milk them.
They’re wonderful animals to see, and very curious about passersby!
Yes, they are always curious creatures when people walk by. They don’t want to miss anything.
Agreed! Such sweet faces.
