Moss grows very well around here, especially in winter. And sometimes it even gets artful, as it does here. It has filled in the detailing on a granite gravestone, almost creating a living embellishment.
Names have also grown a mossy filling as “Mother Lucy” and “1851-1906” shows here.
One hundred and twelve years later I wonder if there are any family members still here to view and visit these graves.
It does feel artistic!
That’s wild. I’ve never seen anything like it. I’ve seen moss on rocks and stone but the moss just kinda covers them. Maybe there’s some deeper meaning here; some “thing” out there that’s doing this as warning to us humans? Well, hey, you never know. And that’s not any crazier than some of the “conspiracies” concocted by goofballs on the right.
Hi Kay, I like how the moss is highlighting the letters. I haven’t seen that before but have seen lots of moss here on the rocks and trees. It does add some beauty to an ordinary sight.
Moss does indeed like our wet winters, I’ve seen the same thing on our local headstones. The older ones anyway, where no ones left behind to clean them up.
