They are pretty!
Never heard of the bufflehead ducks but I do like the name. They sure are cute, the female seems a lot smaller almost toy like. 🙂

The male bufflehead is a strikingly beautiful bird. If you can see one in the sunshine the dark areas on the head have some amazing irridescent highlights. Purples, greens, deep indigos, a rainbow of colors. Keep looking at them through your zoom, you will be very pleased. Merry Christmas to you!
