It’s easy to overlook a fence like this but it really does deserve attention. A lot of detail goes into making those flourishes at the top of those boards. This one has been around a while. I wonder who might take the time to do this anymore.

Difficult to climb over.
It’s interesting but what a lot of work that must have been…I wonder what the design means, if it has any special meaning or is purely decorative?
I agree Kay, it’s the little details that can turn something from ordinary into something special.. super perspective here.
I always look carefully at fences because there is so much variety and beauty on many of them. Your photo demonstrates that very well. I have been blogging and commenting sporadically lately, and I have missed my daily blogging “fix.” Life gets complicated sometime! Hope that you have a lovely Thanksgiving!
Hi Kay,
Marcelle and I love your photos! We will be moving to Sequim next Summer.

That’s nice decorative work for a fence. I saw one like this years ago and it had hearts at the top. Someone with some free time might still do this, it is quite nice to see.
They are neat details!
I begs the expression “They don’t make ’em like they used to!”.
It is remarkably decorative. Lots of work!
