I grabbed a quick shot of this bird before it disappeared into the bushes. But I’m not sure I can identify it. He or she is darker in color than most of the birds that appear in my guide. A wren, perhaps? A sparrow? Anyone with better skills than me willing to make a guess?

The ubiquitous Song Sparrow would be top of my guest list.
It does look like some sort of sparrow, but I honestly don’t know. It is pretty though!
No idea, but this little one was aware of you.
Good catch with the bird. He has some good covering there in the bushes. Sorry, I can’t help with identifying the bird, all I know is that birds can fly. 🙂
Cute little bird – have a grand weekend.
I’m pretty sure after consulting with my avian friends that it is a wrensparow. Such birds were used extensively prior to the Civil war to scare off batty old people. Now they’re back, sent out, I’m told from the Oval Office. I’m not mentioning names but I’m known here as the OCBM (Old, Crippled, Blind Man. Lois is known as Sainte Loise. That’s French for Saint Lois Anne.
Things like this never used to happen or at least to me. What has gone wrong? Maybe I’ll check with your wrensparow. By the way, when you’re pronouncing the word, emphasize “wren.” So, it’s “WRENsparo.”
