John Wayne was a boater? Those brown poles don’t look like hitching posts! More drab days are coming, now that September is almost over.
Paul, John Wayne spent summer family time on a former World War II minesweeper, Wild Goose. He came regularly to Sequim Bay and bought acreage here. After his death his family donated 22 acres for the John Wayne Marina. The family still owns 150 acres that they hope to one day develop.
This is lovely, Kay, and I guess we both had boats and reflections on our mind when we posted our photos for today. But I don’t know what you mean when you say boats down this way are “top heavy.” I’m curious as to how they are top heavy as opposed to boats up your way and if that makes them more dangerous.
It does make for a serene shot.
and those reflections look grand!
Glad that you answered the mystery up above. John Wayne in Sequim? The man had good taste.
